In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback achieved a “Good” rating - the highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Cadillac Escalade IQ has not been tested.

The Q6 e-tron Sportback has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Escalade IQ doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The Q6 e-tron Sportback has Car-to-X Services, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Escalade IQ doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

Both the Q6 e-tron Sportback and the Escalade IQ have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2026 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test, and a “Good” score in the revised vehicle-to-vehicle crash prevention test. The Escalade IQ has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2026.

The Q6 e-tron Sportback’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the Escalade IQ’s (12 vs. 6 years).

Audi pays for scheduled maintenance on the Q6 e-tron Sportback for 3 years and 30,000 miles. Audi will pay for cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance (up to 1 visits). Cadillac only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Escalade IQ.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that Audi vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Audi 5 places higher in reliability than Cadillac.

The Q6 e-tron Sportback has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Escalade IQ doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

The Q6 e-tron Sportback’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Escalade IQ doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the SQ6’s front brake rotors are larger than those on the Escalade IQ:

The Q6 e-tron Sportback SQ6’s optional 255/45R21 front and 285/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series front and 40 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Escalade IQ’s optional 50 series tires.

The Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 3700 pounds less than the Cadillac Escalade IQ.

The Q6 e-tron Sportback is 3 feet shorter than the Escalade IQ, making the Q6 e-tron Sportback easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Q6 e-tron Sportback is 5.6 inches narrower on average than the Escalade IQ, making the Q6 e-tron Sportback easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The Q6 e-tron Sportback 4x4 is 11.7 inches shorter in height than the Escalade IQ, making the Q6 e-tron Sportback much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

The design of the Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback amounts to more than styling. The Q6 e-tron Sportback has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .3 Cd. That is lower than the Escalade IQ (.321) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Q6 e-tron Sportback get better fuel mileage.

The Q6 e-tron Sportback has a much larger cargo volume than the Escalade IQ with its rear seat up (26.1 vs. 23.6 cubic feet).

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Q6 e-tron Sportback to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for vehicle inspections, vehicle inspection based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Cadillac doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Escalade IQ.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Q6 e-tron Sportback to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Escalade IQ doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q6 e-tron Sportback SQ6/Prestige has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Escalade IQ doesn’t offer headlight washers.
